Off Island

I don’t know why I am drawn to decaying houses, but I think it’s because the weatherbeaten look of them tells a story that shiny new houses will never possess. Located along the coast of Massachusetts on a small island, I shot this one with a medium format digital Fuji GFX100s camera and took 4 images of the house from side to side. The resulting image is enormous and that’s why I chose to print it very large using my Canon 4100 printer. I made the sky by painting a simple watercolor wash.
